Youth Emergency Services (YES)Youth Emergency Services (YES) serves homeless and nearly homeless youth by providing critically-needed resources that empower them to become self-sufficient adults. YES offers a continuum of care for vulnerable youth, from meeting their immediate needs of shelter, food and safety to teaching them essential life skills for a successful adulthood. To help these young people transform their lives, YES operates five key programs: the Street Outreach Program and Center, the Emergency Shelter, the Transitional Living Program, the Maternity Home and Mentoring.
This campaign expires December 31, 2019
Founded in 1974, YES now serves over 2,000 youth annually and is the sole organization in the Omaha metro area focusing on supporting runaway, homeless and near homeless youth ages 12-21.
Most of the youth served by YES have suffered physical, emotional or sexual abuse or face mental health and substance abuse problems. YES serves as a positive influence in these young lives that are at a crossroads, turning them from desperation to hope. YES envisions a community which understands and embraces its youth, creating an environment where youth homelessness no longer exists.
