The SAAGNY FoundationThe SAAGNY Foundation is committed to serving the underprivileged in New York, northern New Jersey and southwestern Connecticut (the geographic territory of our sister organization, with an emphasis on helping sick and needy children in our community. We strive to bring smiles to the faces of those we work with, including the campers at Happiness is Camping, a sleep-away camp in Hardwick, NJ for children with cancer (and their siblings)...the students and staff at the Hilltop School, a year-round school for emotionally and developmentally disabled and delayed children in Rockland County, NY. We organize annual writing instrument drives for children in impoverished schools throughout our community and organize a coat drive for those in need in Brooklyn, NY. In addition, we provide college scholarships to employees of companies in the promotional products industry and to the employees' immediate families.
This campaign expires December 31, 2018
Each year, a team of volunteers from the SAAGNY Foundation visit Happiness is Camping, a sleep-away camp in western New Jersey for children with cancer and their siblings.
Our annual "Pirate Day" is one of the highlights of the season for the campers and staff - complete with a carnival, arts and crafts, additional activities, treats and presents for the campers and, of course, a good old fashioned water gun fight. The campers look forward to it every year - each camper gets a goody bag filled with great gifts - including water bottles, toys, sunscreen and lip balm, balls, pens and markers, and more. At the end of the day, each child then gets to pick one special prize just for him/herself - ranging from board games to sports equipment to arts and crafts supplies to dolls and stuffed animals and so many other things.
Through this campaign, we hope to expand and enhance what we already do and make Pirate Day even GRRRRR-EATER!
