ZELCOWA INCZELCOWA is an all volunteer, nonprofit charitable organization (501c3) whose purpose is to help further the education and well-being of students who live in Ghana or the United States.
ZELCOWA has engaged in many activities to help students achieve their goals. We have built libraries and science resource centers as well as provided students with tuition and the basic materials required to attend school.
This campaign expires May 30, 2020
ZELCOWA is helping to construct a preschool/ elementary school (Living Springs School )in a deprived area of CAPE COAST, GHANA. The number of students has outgrown the current facility - a church hall.
The school provides its children with a safe place to learn while their mothers work. In addition to instruction, the school feeds the students one meal a day consisting of protein, vegetables, carbohydrates and fruit. For many students this is their only well-balanced meal.
ZELCOWA also provides monetary assistance to the school to pay for supplies and health insurance to needy students. The cost of insurance is $2.50 a year---less than a penny a day.
The school will be available for the community's use on the weekend. On Saturdays, the library will be open for use by residents and one classroom will be converted into a free "BUMPS AND BRUISES" clinic.
We are currently building the foundation and plan to complete the first floor by February 2017.
